After receiving a BA from Amherst College in Philosophy and an MFA in Filmmaking from NYU, I spent many years offering expressions of care doing feature film work and advocacy, I realized that my interests were tilting toward more direct forms of connection. Though I continue my other creative activities, I also chose to train as a psychotherapist. For two years I was an Academic Associate at Bellevue’s Institute for Psychoanalytic Education, and afterward I entered training and clinical practice at the Contemporary Freudian Society where I now see patients in downtown Brooklyn. I believe people evolve most dramatically during difficult times and I believe I can offer them a special kind of relationship where they can experiment with thoughts and emotions and ways of being that are not usually available. During my years of exploring the field I've also met a large network of many intelligent and deeply insightful people who to whom I can refer patients, so if we don't feel we're a good fit, I am more than happy to help you connect with someone who makes better sense and the process of speaking with me frankly about that can also be very helpful.
